on some things i hope to never forget.

+the way audrey randomly hugs me & says "i lub ew too mom-my," without even being prompted.

+my date with braden on wed while a&e were at school. he thought the drive-thru car wash was the beez knees. i've never seen him giggle like that. & then we went to starbucks. just me & him. we talked about 5 year old things over pumpkin bread & chocolate milk. it was nice just being his aunt.

+the color of a&e's eyes when their little faces have gotten too much sun. & those freckles! i could eat 'em up one freckle at a time.

+the smell of the nicu antibacterial soap. we got to go see my friend brittney's brand new baby last week at the same hospital i had a&e. i teared up as soon as i walked in. the smell! oh, that sweet, sweet smell. (& the baby was pretty cute too! welcome to the world, miss rylan faith! p.s. she's not in the nicu..i just had to take a pic in front of my old stompin' grounds.)

+the way a&e anxiously wait on the balcony for their daddy to get home. they can spot him coming from a mile away & hoot & holler at him until he walks in the door! it's pretty much the greatest thing ever, ever.

+our mornings in bed. first comes audrey, all sleepy eyed. then ellie tip toes up the stairs. the best are the days where we don't hafta get up. we just lay there forever, fan on, watching cartoons, taking turns tickling each others arms. ahh, the good life.

+text fighting with tim. we've (okay, i've) been pretty grumpy this week & once we made up, tim told me he loved me & was still crazy about me. that boy. gulp.

+my ellie. she changes her outfit everyday to match mine just so. i'm in pants, she's in pants. i'm in a dress, she wants a dress. my hair's down, hers is down. if she gets dressed first, she'll go change once she sees what i pick out. so cute, that girl! oh, & those chubby wrists! i don't wanna forget those either :)

being a mom is the most rewarding journey on this side of heaven.
i am the lucky one, that's for sure.

happiest of mother's day to all my mommy friends!
[& of course to my mom, who continues to teach me how to be the best kind of mom. i love you. (who also doesn't read my blog because she still doesn't know how to work a computer! ha!) :)]
