bed rest.
bed resssssssst.
um, come again? i still have 11 weeks to go!
(really 12, but with a scheduled c-sec, i'll for sure have her at 39wks.)
yup. i heard it right.
bed rest.
[let me back up a little.]
friday i landed myself in labor & delivery with some leakage, if you will.
(i know, yuck. pregnancy is so much fun, eh?)
sooo, they start the tests.
let the fun begin!
fetal fibronectin. negative. (and if you've ever had this test, you feel my pain. enough said.)
water leak. negative.
uti. negative.
dehydrated. enough to bag me. awesome.
baby girl's heartbeat. perfect.
contractions. whoa! slow 'em down!
turns out they were not too thrilled with how many contractions i was having on the table.
and how many contractions i've been having every day.
silly me.
i'm only 28 weeks.
and then came the shot.
oh, the good ol' fun one.
the heart racing, makes you sweat kind.
aka, terbutaline.
after a few more tests, some good times with the nurses, an ultrasound, & many doctor calls to+fro, they let me escape! no mary birch for me!
at least not today. (if you're late to my story, i was in
& i
but, bed rest.
yes.
monitoring 2x a wk until she makes her appearance.
yes.
and things could change in a flash.
we just need to focus on keeping this little rascal in my belly for at least 8 more wks!
and keeping this momma out of the hospital!
we've had a few pep-talks, her & i.
& if she knows what's good for her, she better be a-listenin' to her momma!

i'm okay.
she's okay.
tim will be okay. hah! (he hasta wait on me now. this could be fun!)
but we would sure appreciate your prayers.
i really thought my body would cooperate this go-around.
but, nope.
we trust God has this little love right in His big ol' hands.
and He knows.
and that's comforting to us.
i can still drive in moderation though ;)
and hang out on your couch :) or mine. or maybe on a comfy starbucks chair?
so let's hang out, mmkay? cause 11 weeks is enough to make me....oh, wait. let's keep this nice ;)

miss molly! i feel your pain!
i am close friends with fetal fibronectin, the terbutaline and was even magged(magnesium sulfate??) once. sickest i ever was.
but 28 weeks is GOOOOOOOD. I think my heavy duty contractions started with Finn at 25 weeks. and i was hospitalized for 4 days at 33 weeks.
and i think with calvin my contractions started at 18 weeks. but they eventually settled and he was only 2 weeks early! so i bet you that your little dolly baby is just playing with you right now, though it for SURE is a very uneasy feeling.
I will be praying for you!!!! and drink tons of water, though i am sure you already know this. just felt the need to nag a little.
oh my gosh, bed rest?? Honey, I can't even imagine. OK, now I really wish we lived closer so I could help entertain you! or your girls! and I would love for you to lay around on my couch! dang these miles.
In all seriousness though, I'm so sorry to hear of your trials with this, I know that must have been scary stressful. poor dear. but I do so love your positive and upbeat attitude. Keep baby girl in there safe and sound and we'll all be here praying for you both, until it's time for her to arrive! I love the print you used in this post, it's just perfect and oh-so-comforting AND TRUE no matter what!
In closing, I've got two words for you:
MILK IT.
bahahaha.
love you :)
Poor thing! I was on yucky terbutaline pills for the last couple weeks of haydens pregnancy and they were no fun!!
So you mean you CAN'T help me move now? Haaaa. :) Love you!
Bummer. Bed rest is no fun. Saying prayers for you and your little one. Hang in there!
oh molly girl, i'm finally getting caught up in blog land, and this was such a surprise to read.....ahhhh, i just wasn't expecting anything like this when i clicked over to your "story of us".......
oh sweet friend, i can't imagine the anxiety, the worry, the dread of bed rest, the confusion, the wonder, and yet the excitement.
i'm with talia, MILK IT!!
soak up the time you are requested to rest, because you know in a few weeks things will change. of course in a good way, but just soak up this time the Lord has provided with you now :)
oh MAN, there's so many questions i have for you.....i may hafta just send you an email, my sweet dear :)
praying for you tonight molly.
praying for the little lovie in your tummy.
I was on bed rest at 25 weeks with my twins and it was hard...but you have a great attitude! I remember people kept saying things like 'sleep while you can,' but it didn't help at the time. hang in there and stay healthy. so excited for your little peanut!
