dearest baby girl,

thank you for giving us a show at your ultrasound the other day.
you had the hiccups & your lil' body kept jumping up & down in my belly.
cutest. thing. ever.
and then you sucked your thumb as you crossed your teensy weensy ankles.

[i could tell by your cute lil' profile that you were a she, before the dr. even said a word.]

a tiny button nose.
and those sweet round cheeks.
just like your big sisters.
your daddy & i are over the moon.
audrey is in love.
ellie is still in denial, ("no, it's a brother!" she says.) but she'll get there soon enough.
[let's be honest, daddy & i did take a moment to mourn the thought of ever having a son, cause unless there's a jesus/mary moment, we sure as heck aren't having a fourth. at least not naturally. but we got over that boy thing pretty quick. okay, okay, if we're really being honest, it took me til' the next morning. so if you read this when you're 16, please know you were wanted & loved from the very beginning. boys are stinky anyways.]

we stopped at toms farms before the big reveal. soooo GIDDY!!!

we all went in guessing boy [except me. i had my intuitions. and boy girl, was i right!].
but God [and mommy] knew otherwise.

and He chose your daddy & i to raise three sweet girls from the beginning.

just the thought of it makes me tear up [happy tears, of course].

holy moly.

your twin sisters have already hung up your picture [with lots of tape] in their room.
and we're dreaming about what you'll look like.
and smell like.
and what your laugh will sound like.
a&e ask me daily what your name is.
what will your name be, baby girl?
will you have red hair like a&e?
mouse-y brown like me?
[i'm secretly hoping you get my green eyes, but that stays between you & me, mmkay? :)]

all i can say is, God bless your daddy. the lone wolf. in a sea of babes.
