some things john says that i want to remember---
-he is jealous for me.
-the love i'm talking about in this song--it's not pretty, clean--it's not a hollywood, hot pink love. it's a kind of love that's willing to love things that are messy.
-in my anger & in my resentment--& in my frustration, he could still love me through that. & in this process of dealing with my buddy dying, he was okay, he wasn't offended that i was angry at God.
-this song is in celebration of weakness & anger. it's in celebration of a God who would want to hang with us through those things, despite who we are.
-that's the kind of love i'm talking about.

i've always loved that song, but never knew the story behind it! makes it so much better!

if anything, just get to 5 minutes on the video. if we could only always worship like that. like a good conversation with God. mmm, mmm, mmmm. heaven is near.
