the adventures of the toddler bed.

our last morning waking up in a crib! ellie was awake, but audrey was still passed out @ 10 :)
hello, BIG GIRL BEDS!!!
this requires some intense reading...the new room, all nice & organized! all snuggled up, ready for a good nights sleep! maybe? please? fingers crossed!a few days ago, i put both the cribs on craigslist thinking they wouldn't sell for awhile. the very next day a sweet lady with twins called & wanted the cribs that night! i admit i got kind of emotional about it...so many changes have been happening as my babies are transitioning into little girls now!
off the bottle? check.
out of the crib? check.
potty trained? not so much.
i really didn't know what to expect the first night, but turns out, i was scared for no reason at all. after about 15 minutes of silence, i snuck upstairs to watch a movie, thinking this was way too easy. sure enough, i hear the creak of the door, & there's audrey standing in the living room as i walk downstairs. all i could think of was the supernanny :) i took her hand, walked her right back to bed, told her it was bedtime (you know you've seen those episodes where the parent has to walk the screaming kid back to bed over & over & over a million times until the wee hours of the morning! gosh i was hoping that wasn't going to be me!) welp, thank the good Lord it wasn't me! it only took one time & off to dreamland they went until 10am the next morning! and last night, another success!
maybe this whole growing up deal isn't so bad afterall! :)

Yay for big girl beds.....I think those kids on supernanny are so awful because they've gotten away with not going to bed for so long and now they have to....good job starting off on the right foot!! :o) I hope that Abby will be as good when her time comes...BTW I think that supernanny is a genius...hahaha

Their room is DARLING! I am in LOVE with their kitchen!

I kept thinking "Supernanny" when we were bed-training Swee'Pea. Especially that first month when we had to take him back to the bed SERIOUSLY like fifteen times. Ay-ay-ay....

Your girls are too precious!

Your girls are too cute! Congrats on big girl beds! I don't know how I'm gonna cope when this day comes... I just cried this morning when Ewan took a few steps!

And, I must add... your creative blog cuteness is never anything less than amazing. LOOOOOOVE the colorful picture borders! :)
